Clay County, Kentucky
The Kleingers Group sports division, Sportworks Design, worked on a synthetic turf field renovation at Clay County High School in Southern Kentucky. The project was updating there existing high school grass football field to new synthetic turf. This included an extremely tight schedule in order to get the field to be open for the start of the football season.
The Clay County Project utilized a detailed field striping plan for viewability with the school logo in the center of the field and names in the endzone with multiple color outlines for them to stand out. The turf system included a shock pad, to help with playability and player safety below slit-film turf with a sand/rubber infill. With the upgrade to the turf, many utilities were also updated as part of the project. This includes stadium lighting, electric for press box, scoreboard and game clock, and storm drainage within the field.
