Sportworks Design created an athletic campus plan to improve the athletic complex at Carroll High School. The master plan required potential enhancements including new sports field lighting, new bleachers, and press box, two new synthetic turf fields, a new running track, and a future field house. The master plan has been put into place and the school has tackled the first couple of phases. The first phase was upgrading the field lighting with a four-pole Musco system that has 70’ poles. The second phase involved the conversion of the stadium field from natural grass to synthetic turf. The synthetic turf was installed over top of a shock absorption pad for added safety and enhanced playability. Several of the utilities under the field needed to be re–routed including the electric feed to the press box and scoreboard, as well as an irrigation feed to the natural grass practice fields north of the stadium. The second phase also included removing the existing cinder running track and installing a new all-weather running track and new field events in the “D Areas.”
In 2020, the Carroll High School athletic complex design was selected as the American Sports Builders Association Award Winner.
