Sportworks Design assisted Edgewood High School and the district by providing survey, design, bid, and oversee the construction of their field renovation project. While working with the district to understand their priorities, Sportworks Design was able to provide strategic Bid Alternates that would allow for the maximum facility possible without exceeding the budget. Alternates included, various improvements to the āDā areas and the track and field events ranging from no work, to natural grass, to asphalt surrounding the events, to concrete runways with high performance polyurethane track surfacing. Sportworks Design also worked with the district to understand and design the field graphics that met their school traditions. Various logos were explored as well as combinations of endzone lettering and background colors. The final hurdle was the permitting process. SWFD was pro-active with drainage submittals and working with the governmental jurisdictions in regards to the sensitive Great Miami River Basin Aquifer and the Miller- Coors and Southwest Regional Water Districts nearby wellheads. With diligent communication SWFD was able to obtain the necessary stormwater permits to keep the project on schedule.
