Oxford, OH
Talawanda High School is home of the Braves. When Talawanda chose to move their High School to a new facility in the City of Oxford, they knew they wanted a first class, state-of-the-art athletic complex to go with it. Sportworks was chosen to provide the civil engineering design for the complex.
The facility includes a new stadium, complete with an 8-lane track, synthetic turf field, track and field events, varsity softball diamond, varsity baseball diamond, natural grass soccer practice field, 5 tennis courts, field hockey field, multipurpose field, and a new field house with concessions, locker rooms, restrooms, separate coaches & officials offices, and training areas. Sportworks was relied upon to design the facility in accordance with state and national athletic standards. Additionally Sportworks wrote all associated specifications including the baseball infield spec, synthetic turf spec, and track surface specification. As members of the Synthetic Turf Council, Sportworks’ expertise was very beneficial to Talawanda’s Athletic Director in helping to understand, in a professional nonbiased way, the various options associated with the synthetic turf fibers and infill technologies on the market today.
