Lexington, Kentucky
Sportworks Design transformed this site which was previously used as a multipurpose softball/rec sports activity center into a premier NCAA Softball Venue designed for Conference and Regional Level competition. Located in downtown Lexington, the site includes a 500-seat stadium with high-performance natural grass. Other features included new brick dugouts for home and visiting teams, new batting cages and pitching bullpens, improved Wi-Fi access and connectivity, and a new scoreboard which serves as one of the centerpieces of the new venue. The field also underwent a 90-degree rotation, with home plate now facing to the northwest.
The site was also designed to accommodate a future 6,000 SF multi-sport training complex to serve all student-athletes. Construction was completed in time for Transylvania softball team’s first-ever NCAA Tournament super regional which was hosted at the renovated Hall Field
