Lucasville, OH
Valley Local School District wanted to add a fifth tennis court to their high school courts along with the remediation of the existing courts due to wide cracks and neglect of maintenance. A tennis court evaluation was completed to assess the condition of the existing courts. Based on the assessment of the courts, Sportworks Design developed a handful of remediation options to renovate the existing courts.
Sportworks also presented five layout options (varying in scope and cost) to add a fifth court to the existing four.
The project included removing and replacing the existing asphalt courts, a new 10-foot-tall black vinyl-coated fence, new tennis posts and center anchor straps, and an additional concrete sidewalk. An additional storm sewer was installed to help improve drainage around the courts.
To add the fifth court, asphalt pavement was added to the east side of the existing courts, and the courts were shifted to the west. As a part of adding the additional court, two court light poles were relocated, and the court lighting was upgraded to LED lighting.
Sportworks provided survey and civil engineering services for this project.
